The top is premium Sitka spruce, paired with sapele for the back and sides. This combination is meant to produce a “brighter, clearer, and fuller” sound, particularly emphasizing low and mid frequencies. The bridge is made of walnut, which the manufacturer claims enhances bass sound and stability. The guitar uses an upgraded X-bracing structure, also “hand-cut,” to improve resonance. The finish is relatively thin: a 0.005″ polyester coating, which helps preserve acoustic vibration instead of dampening it.
These factors represent the most critical aspects that will impact your satisfaction with this product.
Good sound, change the strings and you are good to go! Love the matte color finish with the brown line around the body, and the arrow shaped neck, very pretty details for such a budget guitar. Plenty of accessories to go around too, headstock tuner, capo (which you can also add a wrist strap, and can be used to remove the string pegs!
Very nice packaging. Very affordable. It was a present to my daughter and she loved it. Quality was great.
I've been playing guitar well over 40 years - professionally for 15 years. I picked up this guitar as an inexpensive "travel" guitar with the thought, it's probably a klunker so no big deal if it gets damaged on the road. Wow, this guitar is suprizingly playable and sounds very good. The tuning machines are not great but get the job done. I can't get over the lively and rich tone this guitar has - I own several Tayor guitars as well as Ovation guitars and this one holds up well in comparrison (obviously, it's not a $3000 Taylor - but you get a good value for this price.) Excellent tone for the money, very playable and I think I'll keep it around for a while. - 5 stars for the price.
