This is a compact, smart-enabled portable air conditioner from BLACK+DECKER that offers three modes: cooling (air conditioner), dehumidifying, and fan. It's designed for room-by-room climate control. With its 8,000 BTU cooling capacity (5,100 SACC), it is suitable for smaller to mid-sized rooms. The unit is equipped with WiFi connectivity, allowing it to be controlled via a mobile app, as well as via voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It features a digital control panel, a remote control, a 24-hour timer, and an auto water evaporation system to reduce the need for manual emptying.

BTU (British Thermal Units) quantifies how much heat the AC can remove in an hour; higher BTU means more cooling power, but also more energy used and potentially overcooling in small rooms.
SACC (Seasonally Adjusted Cooling Capacity) is a more realistic metric (especially for regulatory standards) because it reflects efficiency under average operating conditions.
The dehumidifier mode is particularly useful in humid climates; understanding how effectively the unit removes moisture is essential.
Power consumption in different modes matters, especially if the unit will run long hours.
Auto water evaporation reduces the frequency of emptying the water tank, which can save time and avoid interruptions.
WiFi + app control provides flexibility (remote on/off, scheduling), but reliability (connection stability) can be a concern.
Window kit or hose requirement: portable ACs usually need to exhaust warm air outside, so installation matters.
The 8,000 BTU cooling power suggests that this unit is capable of handling moderate cooling loads. However, knowing the SACC (5,100 BTU) is more helpful to understand its real-world performance: this adjusted metric accounts for realistic seasonal conditions, making it a more practical measure of efficiency rather than peak capacity. Over- or under-sizing a portable AC could lead to inefficient operation. If the room is too large, it may struggle; if too small, it may waste energy.
These factors represent the most critical aspects that will impact your satisfaction with this product.
I wasn't sure about how this would heat, and granted I’ve only had it less than a week .. I pray it continues to work this well for a long time … living in a singlewide with less than decent insulation .. in the midwest .. heaters in winter are given a run for their money trying to keep the interior comfortable while its below freezing outside.. as long as you sit in front of a space heater that side of you gets warm ..
My biggest complaint? The remote doesn't have backlight. Neither does the one for my space heater WHICH you can buy one of these units with heating options. I just haven't taught my fingers on this one yet similar to getting a new tv remote.
