I’ve had this computer for probably 2 months now, and it works great. I was worried when I first got it because I bought it to use for gaming and game development and it would hardly run even small 2D games without the mouse buffering. But after some digging, I realized I just needed to update the driver which can be done through GMKTec’s website. After that, it began running very smoothly. I can make 3D models, run my games, use Unity, etc. with no issue now. The fan isn’t very loud imo - just a little louder than my HP laptop. It only kicks on every once in a while, or if I’m opening Unity (but it calms down after the app is actually running).
The short form: I wanted a small form-factor computer for general work and light-duty gaming. This machine provides it admirably. The longer form: I chose it because it promised a decent level of gaming performance for the one game I play, World of tanks, at a decent frame-rate without its having a to have a noisy, secondary fan to handle the kinds of heating that the additional performance needs. What I have, and what I'm writing this review on, is a machine that handles world of tanks with low medium graphics settings at a frame rate of 40-60 fps with a highish ping which fulfills my basic needs, and it can do more if I turn it's graphics settings to low, at which point its frame rate goes to over a hundred-and-ten fps which works to make up for my senior-citizen reaction speeds.
