The TC-777’s cardioid (unidirectional) polar pattern captures sound primarily from the front of the mic and attenuates sounds from the sides and rear. That makes it a good choice for single-voice recordings (voiceovers, streams, podcasts) in untreated rooms where you want to minimize ambient noise. Keep the mic pointed at the speaker’s mouth and use close miking (6–12 inches) for the best signal-to-noise ratio.
These factors represent the most critical aspects that will impact your satisfaction with this product.
I have been using this mic for 2 years and still going. I needed something to quickly replace my lousy head set mic which introduced a lot of noise. I found this USB Tonor on Amazon after spending hours combing through countless of affordable mics and read enough reviews to convince me to give this one a try.
Looks smooth and seems to sounds very good. Only thing to get used to is the holder, and the fact that you cannot really adjust the height. But great value.
