Detection method: Infrared-guided measurement (IGM / thermal imaging) to visually locate anomalies plus pin and pinless measurements to quantify moisture.
Accuracy & verification: Use the thermal image to find suspect areas, then verify moisture percent with either the pin probe (contact) or the pinless sensor (non-destructive).
Portability & durability: Small form factor, rugged build and internal rechargeable battery for field use.
Probe length & access: Ships with 2-inch pins for deeper surface readings; pin-type measurement will leave tiny probe marks.
FLIR’s IGM uses a basic thermal camera to show temperature differentials on a small screen; cooler/wetter areas often show as thermal anomalies. This makes the MR160 extremely useful for scanning rooms, walls and ceilings quickly to find areas that warrant closer moisture testing rather than blindly probing surfaces. Use the thermal read first to narrow down investigation zones and save time on inspections.
These factors represent the most critical aspects that will impact your satisfaction with this product.
This is great for my restoration company. I am very pleased.
Took me five minutes to figure out how to transfer pictures from the camera to my I phone via Bluetooth. Remembered couple of reviews mentioning issue with them not uploading correctly.
