The RDINSCOS B0CN121JFX is a compact handheld pin-type moisture meter intended for spot testing moisture content in wood, building materials and flooring. It uses two metal probes to penetrate the surface and report a localized moisture value on a color display, and is aimed at homeowners, flooring installers, inspectors and woodworkers who need quick go/no-go readings (leak triage, firewood sorting, pre-install checks). The unit typically includes basic modes for different substrates, a HOLD function, audible/visual alerts and battery power for field use.

Measurement method: Pin-type (resistance between probe pins). Good for direct, local readings but leaves small probe holes.
Material modes: Separate modes/settings for softwood, hardwood and building materials (select the correct mode for meaningful results).
Readout & indicators: Color LCD with numeric readout plus tri-color or bar indicator and audible alarm for fast triage.
Depth & penetration: Pin probes read roughly to probe tip depth (typical effective reading depth for this family ≈ 10–15 mm depending on pins and material).
Pin-type meters measure electrical resistance between two probes driven into the material, giving a direct, localized moisture percentage at the contact depth. Use pin mode when you need a numeric, spot-verified moisture value (e.g., checking a stud, a board end, or a split log). Don’t use pins on visible finished surfaces unless you accept tiny probe marks — for finished floors or exposed trim consider a pinless meter for scanning.
These factors represent the most critical aspects that will impact your satisfaction with this product.
Wish you knew about this little gadget long ago however I don’t know if it’s still working properly like it should cause I try to fire up my wood burner this year and it just will not burn even though it tells me the wood is fine
Money well spent!! As a salesperson and estimator in the flooring industry, this tool in invaluable. I don’t know that if it’s as good as the ones that cost hundreds of dollars, but it’s good enough for me to know when a job isn’t ready for installation or if there’s a moisture problem that’s causing problems with the floors that I’ve sold.
