The MESTEK WM710-BU is a compact, pinless (non-destructive) moisture meter aimed at home inspectors, restorers, flooring installers and DIYers who want to locate damp areas quickly without puncturing surfaces. It uses an induction-type sensor to scan materials (wood, drywall, concrete, masonry) to an advertised depth of roughly 0.78 in / 20 mm, displays results on a large color screen with a three-color dry/risk/wet bar, and includes features such as data-hold, audible out-of-range alarm and an auto power-off.

Measurement method: Pinless (inductive) — non-destructive scanning, no probe holes.
Effective depth: Advertised up to ~20 mm (0.78 in) — depends on material density and layering.
Readout & UI: Large color LCD (≈3") with tri-color bar (Green = DRY, Yellow = RISK, Red = WET), numeric readout and audible alarm.
Measurement range & accuracy: Listings show wide display range (0.0–100.0 scale) and state an accuracy around ±4% (manufacturer page / seller spec). Verify against your use case.
Because the WM710 uses an inductive sensor, you can scan finished floors, painted drywall and visible trim without leaving probe holes. That’s especially useful when surveying carpeting, hardwood, laminate or finished surfaces after leaks — you get surface/near-surface moisture mapping without damage. Keep in mind pinless tools read a volume beneath the sensor, not a tiny contact point.
These factors represent the most critical aspects that will impact your satisfaction with this product.
It seems to work fairly well. I compared to another more expensive sensor and the readings were comparable for pinless. The pinless did show more moisture than pin method in wood, but crazy higher like some others. It will be a nice tool to always have on hand and if I find an issue, I can use the more expensive one to confirm. I don't want to expose the pin sensor to damage from carrying day to day in my work vehicle.
Overall seems to be very consistent and accurate. Has a 3 inch color screen that is very bright and easy to read. This is the first pinless moisture meter I have used, and I am impressed. It also comes with a 3 year, no questions asked, replacement guarantee which is a great thing. Would definately recommend.
