The ASUS Prime B550M-A WiFi II is a compact micro-ATX motherboard built around AMD’s B550 chipset for AM4 processors (Ryzen 3000/4000/5000 series compatibility). It prioritises a balanced feature set for mainstream builders: one PCIe 4.0 x16 SafeSlot for a modern GPU, dual NVMe M.2 slots (one PCIe 4.0), integrated Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Gigabit Ethernet, multiple USB 3.2 ports and modern display outputs (HDMI 2.1, DVI, D-Sub). The board targets gamers and creators who want current connectivity and PCIe 4.0 storage performance in a space-saving micro-ATX package.

CPU/socket compatibility: AM4 socket — supports Ryzen 3000/4000 G (APU) and 5000 series processors; confirm BIOS version for specific CPUs.
Memory: DDR4 (check supported speeds and OptiMem layout for best stability/performance). ECC memory support is noted on the product metadata — verify with the exact CPU and BIOS for ECC function.
Expansion & storage: PCIe 4.0 x16 SafeSlot plus dual M.2 slots (one with PCIe 4.0 x4 support) — great for fast NVMe drives.
Networking: Onboard Wi-Fi 6 and 1 Gb Ethernet provide modern wireless and wired connectivity.
Onboard Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) gives better multi-device wireless performance and efficiency compared with Wi-Fi 5; the board also includes 1 Gbps Ethernet and USB 3.2 Gen2 ports (Type-A). Combined with HDMI 2.1, the I/O suits both gaming and content-creation rigs that use onboard graphics or need high-speed peripherals.
These factors represent the most critical aspects that will impact your satisfaction with this product.
Works perfectly as my first ever pc I built myself. It has very nice LED lights that let you know if the system is working with different colors meaning a part is failing. The bios is one of the best I have seen and it was extremely easy to set up everything the way that I wanted, there is even a lot of automatic options for easy setup.
The biggest highlight has to be the integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It saved me from the hassle of running cables at home; the signal is rock solid, and it saved me the cost of an extra network card—10/10, worth it! The BIOS is super user-friendly, allowing even a beginner builder to easily set up XMP. No cap.
