The YoLink Motion Sensor RT (YS7806) is a smart indoor motion detection sensor from YoLink that leverages radar-based detection and long-range LoRa wireless communication. It is designed for home or office security, automation, or monitoring needs where you want reliable motion detection — even in large, multi-room spaces or buildings where typical Wi-Fi or Bluetooth-based sensors might struggle. With the LoRa connectivity, the sensor can communicate to the central hub over long distances (up to ¼ mile in open air), and it operates on batteries that can last up to 24 months, reducing maintenance.

Detection Technology & Accuracy — What kind of sensor (radar, PIR, etc.) it uses; how reliably it identifies real motion vs false positives.
Wireless Connectivity & Range — The communication method (LoRa, Wi-Fi, etc.), and how far / through what obstacles (walls, floors) it still works.
Battery Life & Power Efficiency — How long it lasts on a set of batteries; frequency of maintenance or battery changes.
Configurability & Sensitivity Adjustment — Whether you can tailor sensitivity, “alert hold” or suppression settings, to match room size, traffic level, or avoid false alerts.
Integration & Smart Automation Compatibility — Whether it works with a hub or smart-home platform; whether it can trigger other devices, notifications, or routines.
Unlike many motion sensors which rely on Wi-Fi or short-range radio, YS7806 uses LoRa wireless communication — allowing reliable connections over long distances (up to ¼ mile in open air). This is critical if you have a large home, basement, garage, or multiple floors/wings — you won’t need repeaters or complicated wiring.
These factors represent the most critical aspects that will impact your satisfaction with this product.
Over all, I really like this motion sensor. I have been waiting a while for a company to make an outside motion sensor that works with Alexa. At the beginning of 2021, I did suggest this to Yolinks in their feedback section. Yolink seems to be very open to feedback.
If you are thinking of this question then stop thinking and buy first and the read my review. I have been experimenting with smart home products since last 7 years when they were barely launched starting with smart bulbs and moving on to all different products and using Alexa to bind them and then comes these sensors.
