Often when watching TV in a shared living room, volume levels suitable for one person can be too loud for others, or too soft for someone with hearing difficulties. Traditional solutions like over-ear headphones can be uncomfortable for extended use. The SIMOLIO SM‑621D aims to solve this by providing a wireless, portable speaker system that brings “clear and crisp” TV audio directly to the user — without disturbing others in the room. It’s particularly marketed toward seniors or individuals with hearing impairments, offering “hearing assistance” rather than high‑power sound for a whole room.

Compatibility with audio sources — Whether the device works with your TV, media player, or sound system (optical, analog, HDMI, etc.).
Audio clarity and voice/dialog enhancement — Since goal is hearing assistance, clarity of dialogue and ability to distinguish voices from background sound is critical.
Wireless reliability & range — How stable is the wireless connection, and how far you can place the speaker from the TV/transmitter.
Portability and power / battery life / power options — Whether you can move the speaker freely, how long it lasts on battery, and flexibility of charging.
Ease of use and accessibility features — Simple controls, volume knob, headset option, setup simplicity — especially important for seniors or people not tech‑savvy.
Safety and build quality — Battery safety, durability, casing, safe charging/discharging, especially for long-term use.
The SM‑621D supports digital optical, RCA, and 3.5 mm AUX audio outputs — making it compatible with most TVs, DVD players or media systems. Because not all TVs have analog ports or Bluetooth, having multiple connection options ensures broader usability. If your TV is HDMI-only, you may need an external HDMI-to-analog/optical converter to use this speaker.
These factors represent the most critical aspects that will impact your satisfaction with this product.
This is a great product. Easy set up, works perfect for us older folks. Provides a great sounding speaker by the bedside without disturbing the rest of the family by blasting the TV speakers. Highly recommended at a great Amazon price. A+++++
Speaker was very easy to set up, I used the optical audio cable because there is no audio lag in the speaker, and the volume on the TV can be adjusted independent of the speaker. The 3 equalizer settings on the back allow to set how much you wish to isolate voices. The most filtered setting is a bit tinny, so I opted for the middle setting.
